IS INCARCERATION THE FINAL ANSWER?

My Uncle did 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Is that right? Is it right that "black and Hispanic people are disproportionality arrested and convicted of offenses?" Is it moral that "men ages 18—64, 1 in 87 white men were incarcerated, versus 1 in 36 Hispanic men and 1 in 12 black men?" This is according to the data from on Healthypeople.gov.

Who gave us the right to incarerate invididuals? Did we not escape Europe because of a tyrant ruler? Did we not come over across the sea on ships in chains? Did we not show the first settlers information for their survival only to be eradicated later? I'm confused. When has locking humans in cages every been seen as humane? Why does the Humane Society get more support than Criminal Justice Reform.

I have a dream. That one day. When crimes are committed. Individuals will get the mental health support necessary.
